Rhythm permeates the whole universe. There is rhythm in our heart beat, in our day to day movements like walking and running and even in our speech. Why, even the ocean, sea, river, trees and leaves moves along in a particular rhythm. These are the rhythmic movements inherent in nature but man has ever been in a process of discovery, to explore more possibilities in the field of rhythm through the beautiful medium of “MUSIC”. While melody has evolved in different forms the world over, it is amazing to note when played through different instruments, there is a thread of commonness that binds the music emanating from them.

Indian Classical Music is not just about maneuvering over swaras. It is a very intricate system which demands a lot of feel and experience from the artist, in terms of looking at every raga, not as a cluster of notes but as an embodiment of a beautiful form. The artiste penetrates into the hues and moods of the raga, becomes one with it and transfers this sublime experience to the audience, making it truly enriching and elevating.
